The Prep School Negro is Andre’s own story as an underprivileged teenager who received a full scholarship to an esteemed Philadelphia prep school, The Germantown Friends School, where he attended in the 1980s and teaches today. Andre leads us through his struggles as a scholarship student to find his identity and place of belonging while living in two very different worlds. The messaging of the film aims to inspire important conversations that lead to a greater understanding of one another and a desire to live as conscious, kind-hearted individuals.
