Duxbury Rotary is hosting its annual Festival of Lights on the Town Green on November 28th. In recognition of the many faiths practiced by our community a Menorah (November 28th is the first night of Hannukah) and candles to celebrate the lives of loved ones who passed away this year have been added. Celebration candles can be purchased at www.duxburyrotary.com starting Wednesday, November 17th. Proceeds from candle sales will support Rotary’s work, including the Good Neighbor Fund, which helps individuals and families in need in the area.
Santa will arrive by fire truck at 4PM, will light the Christmas Tree, Menorah, and Celebration Candles, and will be on hand to hear every child’s gift wishes. Members of the Duxbury High School Choir will sing seasonal songs, and Rotarians will give out free hot chocolate and cookies to attendees.
While Rotary’s Festival of Lights has often coincided with Holly Days, this year the two events will occur on separate weekends: Festival of Lights and Santa on November 28th, Holly Days on December 5th.
